I can remember the Jelly Bean Prayer from when I was a little girl. I had hoped to use it with my kids last Easter, but I didn’t get around to it in time. So, this year I have gotten a head start!
The poem reads:
Red is for the blood He gave.
Green is for the grass He made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright.
Orange is for the edge of night.
Black is for the sins we made.
White is for the grace He gave.
Purple is for His hour of sorrow.
Pink is for a new tomorrow.
And handful of jelly beans,
Colorful and sweet,
Is a prayer, a promise,
A loved one’s treat!
Happy Resurrection Sunday!
To make the jelly bean jars you need:
a jar (I recycled a Starbucks bottle)
jelly beans
ribbon
Directions: Fill the jar with jelly beans. Attach the poem using the ribbon. This makes a great little gift for your little ones on Easter. Plus, it is a great illustration of our risen Savior! I just can’t wait to give these to my kids for Easter!!!
As you can see, I have three different versions. I could not decide which I liked best…so I included all three. Where I found the time to be indecisive and make all three…I have no idea!?!?!
Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the selection! ![:-)]()
